Win Butler - Arcade Fire

Tonight on YouTube, Arcade Fire will be performing Live from Madison Square Gardens as part of their debut tour of their latest album The Suburbs. U2 managed to pull in 10 million viewers last year using the same service so it will be interesting to see how much more or less growth a one year older online music audience will have. Since more people have come online and more people have high bandwidth internet connections, it is quite possible that Arcade Fire could smash U2's 10 million viewer record.
Not everyone needs to be in front of a computer to attend this virtual concert anymore. More and more people have portable devices capable of watching online video like iPhones, Blackberries, Android devices, and the horribly named Windows Phone 7. More people can access online video content via YouTube in their living rooms using their nintendo Wii, PS3 or Xbox 360. The latter requires a network connected PC running media managers like TVersity.
As well, film directors Terry Gilliam and Spike Jones are both involved in the live concert broadcast.
