Culled this juicy nugget off the Rhombus board:

here's a direct quote from the kottke interview in the hawaii tribune-herald (local newspaper of hilo, on the big island) from friday, dec. 7, 2001:

"[Kottke's] most recent album, "One Guitar, No Vocals," came out in June 1999, and he enjoys the fact that Private Music doesn't make him record more often than he wants to.

'The studio is the last place I want to do anything," he said. "I put it off as long as I can. But I've got a bunch of new material and I'll be playing that in the islands and I'm also working off an-and-on [sic] with a bass player named Mike Gordon. He plays bass in (the rock band) Phish. Maybe that'll be my next (recording) project or part of it.'"

Leo Kottke, if you're wondering, is a very talented acoustic guitar player of some note. Trey has mentioned him as an influence and an inspiration.
