We had a much better performance than those Russians and yet the judges are up to their old tricks again. This is a great reason why judging in sports shouldn't be allowed. Ms.Huxtable Posted February 12, 2002 Report Share Posted February 12, 2002 I came home last night and my roommate was sobbing on the sofa, tears streaming down her face over the flawless performace and the silver medal. I had to really try hard not to laugh. What is it with figure skating that makes people that emotional? Is there something I'm not getting here? After listening to Berezhnaya and Sikharulidze, who live and train in the United States, take and answer questions in English for several minutes, one took the microphone and challenged the skaters, "Why do you hate Russia so much that you refuse to speak in Russian and refuse to allow for Russian translations?"Sikharulidze and the Russian reporters bickered back and forth briefly in Russian before the skater waved his hand and dismissed the reporter by saying, "You're stupid."
