Bowie to go live on TV

By JAM! Music

David Bowie will follow the likes of Elton John, Tony Bennett, Kenny Rogers, and the Bee Gees by appearing on A&E's hit program "Live By Request".

The Thin White Duke will perform songs requested by the show's viewers on June 15, four days after the release of his new album, "Heathen".

Later this year, Bowie will also be the subject of the channel's flagship series "Biography", A&E announced.

The appearances are part of a busy summer for the rock icon. He'll be touring with Moby's Area2 package tour, whose lone Canadian stop is Aug. 5 at Toronto's Molson Amphitheatre, as well as choosing the acts for London's famous Meltdown Festival in June.

In addition, Bowie recently teamed with comedian Adam Sandler for an unlikely cover of "Space Oddity" on the soundtrack to Sandler's upcoming movie "Mr. Deeds". (More on David Bowie)
