TALA

After spending 3 years on the edge of the east, Tala has evolved and migrated where they have finally grown their roots: Montreal. Melding a variety of backgrounds into one tight sound, Tala has managed to create fine melodies that focus all of their energies into an electric groove.

Entering the scene as their current conglomerate has permitted the band to learn from their multitude of experiences. Evolving from a jam band, to a funk band, to their current indefinable state, the band has begun to settle with their grass roots, Indian food, and their van. Tala has created a whisper on the street that is growing to a moan: A sound by which the East has already been infected. Soon, all will be shouting the sound that is Tala.

Tala has impressed crowds and cows with their obsessive performance, which always reflect the way the band feels, and not how they plan to feel. The reality based performances and music steers away from the mainstream hype and artificiality yet brings in the new sound that has been stirring the underground for years.

Who is Tala?

Adrian Aitken: Drum Kit, Percussions

Jason Blanchard: Vocals, Electric & Acoustic Guitars

Marc Lajoie: Electric & Acoustic Basses

Steve Venkatarangam: Electric Guitar, Vocals, Sitar

Crowds? Cows? Musical steers? Should be interesting (if a little cramped)...

Aloha,

Brad
