Chewie
I disagree del-head. if it wasn't for elvis, the music of african-americans that we all love would not have been accepted by the white masses. my vote...johnny cash
Del
If Elvis didn't steal it, someone else would have... besides, is this really who you would call a "survivor"?:
Jaimoe
Elvis is still alive anyway. Just go to a arthouse theatre near you and see the Bruce Campbell movie Bubba Ho-Tep ( shown below ):

Chewie
If Elvis didn't steal it, someone else would have... ]http://www.flashback.se/arkiv/gifs/mugshots/elvis.jpg agreed...but he still had the insight to adapt black music and was the first person to successfully do so... Del
So what? Justin Timberlake is stealing Black music now, should we hold him on a pedestal? The real question is what did he do with it? He ended his career making Hawaiian movies and bad lounge music... Hardly someone worthy of beating the likes of a Jerry Garcia or a Jimi Hendrix... Chewie
yeah but he's stealing bad black music. but he gets props from me for all the tail he gets
Jaimoe
There's no greater cross-over artist than Elvis. No one comes close. The King could do it all, and with a great deal of honesty.
AdamH
You guys are all nuts...Stevie Ray Vaughan is gone gone gone. Brings back terrible flashbacks of my first guitar instructor and his floyd rose tremolo
reba
stevie would have my first vote......as great as he was, he didn't have the musical influence that the rest of the cast had.
Del
The King could do it all... Including dying on the toilet...
Super Freak
Ya, good one...I'll remember that one when I order the black kid to the back of the bus when I go to school tomorrow, and I'll remember it again when I catch a black person drinking from the white fountain. ya, Justin Timberlake...really opening alot of doors for todays african American/canadians. Brilliant. Stevie gets my vote.
reba
elvis was a revolutionary.....the musical landscape would be vastly different without the chasm that he created between pop and rock
