Summer Tunes

Just putting together a nice summertime compilation - wondering if you guys might like to help me out.

Here's your motivation:

You're outside, the sun is shining - lounging by your tent, beer in hand and surrounded by great friends... what music usually reminds you of these times?

Obviously...

Nobody on the road

Nobody on the beach

I feel it in the air

The summer's out of reach

Empty lake, empty streets

The sun goes down alone

I'm drivin' by your house

Though I know you're not at home

But I can see you-

Your brown skin shinin' in the sun

You got your hair combed back and your sunglasses on, baby

And I can tell you my love for you will still be strong

After the boys of summer have gone

I never will forget those nights

I wonder if it was a dream

Remember how you made me crazy?

Remember how I made you scream

Now I don't understand what happened to our love

But babe, I'm gonna get you back

I'm gonna show you what I'm made of

I can see you-

Your brown skin shinin' in the sun

I see you walkin' real slow and you're smilin' at everyone

I can tell you my love for you will still be strong

After the boys of summer have gone

Out on the road today, I saw a DEADHEAD sticker on a Cadillac

A little voice Inside my head said, "Don't look back. You can never look back."

I thought I knew what love was

What did I know?

Those days are gone forever

I should just let them go but-

I can see you-

Your brown skin shinin' in the sun

You got that top pulled down and that radio on, baby

And I can tell you my love for you will still be strong

After the boys of summer have gone

I can see you-

Your brown skin shinin' in the sun

You got that hair slicked back and those Wayfarers on, baby

I can tell you my love for you will still be strong

After the boys of summer have gone

"Boys of Summer" - Don Henley

Hot town summer in the city

Back of my neck getting dirt and gritty

Been down, isn’t it a pity

Doesn’t seem to be a shadow in the city

All around people looking half dead

Walking on the sidewalk hotter than a match head

But at night it’s a different world

Go out and find a girl

Come on, come on and dance all night

Despite the heat it will be alright

And babe, don’t you know it’s a pity

The days can’t be like the night

In the summer in the city

In the summer in the city

Cool town, evening in the city

Dressed so fine and looking so pretty

Cool cat looking for a kitty

Gonna look in every corner of the city

Till I’m weezing like a bus stop

Running up the stairs gonna meet ya on the roof top

But at night it’s a different world

Go out and find a girl

Come on, come on and dance all night

Despite the heat it will be alright

And babe, don’t you know it’s a pity

The days can’t be like the night

In the summer in the city

In the summer in the city

But at night it’s a different world

Go out and find a girl

Come on, come on and dance all night

Despite the heat it will be alright

And babe, don’t you know it’s a pity

The days can’t be like the night

Round my cottage it's usually:

Jimmy Cliff - Harder they Come Soundtrack

Grateful Dead - 02/09/73 Palo Alto

Jimmy Buffet - Best Of

These CD are bequethed to the cottage and never leave and therefor played early and often.
