The Zen Tricksters

Kicking off Vibes 2004 in old school fashion, Friday at 4PM The Zen Tricksters will take the stage. From Deadhead Heaven to the amazing experience at Croton Point Park, up to Plattsburgh and onto Bridgeport, up to the Greig Farm in Red Hook & and finally to the Indian Lookout Country Club, what a long strange trip The Tricksters and VibeTribe have all traveled together.

Strangefolk

Following The Tricksters, will be a bunch of talented guys who have been with us from the start. This year, featuring Russ Lawton on drums, it wouldn't be the Vibes without our friends, Strangefolk!

Dark Star Orchestra

And to close out the main stage on Friday night with a 4 hour performance, please welcome Dark Star Orchestra. If you haven't seen DSO before, I mean really tuned-in and absorbed what they've got happening on stage, you need to. They'll be performing one entire Dead show, from start to finish. An old school Grateful Dead performance done like no other. Welcome guys!

Late Night Stage 1-3AM

The Assembly of Dust

After the main stage music closes down for the night, we'll fire up the Late Night Stage for a couple hours. Reid Genauer & The Assembly of Dust will kick off the Late Night Stage keeping everyone's Mojo riding high.

Scarecrow Collection

Scarecrow Collection, an up-and-coming, 5 piece jam-rock band will close out the Late Night Stage. There's a buzz about these guys, so be sure to check them out!

Michael DiMartino

If being part of a tribal drum circle is more your thing, Michael DeMartino and his World Beat Ensemble will launch the late night, early morning drum circle located at the far side of the concert field. Bring your instruments and let it all hang out!

Saturday July 17th

Bomb Squad

After you all get a good night sleep, wake up to some hot coffee, maybe even a hot shower, make sure you're down on the concert field by 11 because The Bomb Squad's going to jumpstart Saturday's festivities. The funky, high energy sounds of Jen Durkin & Friends is the perfect way to stretch out, get that blood pumping and ready for an amazing day at Vibes 2004!

Martin Sexton

Next up, Mr. Martin Sexton. What can you say, other than this guys been blowing people's minds for years. He's an absolutely amazing performer and we're psyched to be welcoming him to his first Gathering of the Vibes.

The Assembly of Dust

Following Martin Sexton, if you didn't catch Reid on the Late Night Stage, here's an opportunity to check out a full set with The Assembly of Dust. These guys are getting stronger, tighter and more inspiring with each performance.

Steve Kimock Band

As the sun begins to set Saturday evening, we're pleased to welcome once again to the Vibes stage the Steve Kimock Band. Steve is no stranger to the VibeTribe and his guitar work, backed by an outstanding group of musicians, will once again leave you spellbound.

The Slip

Next up is The Slip, whose music is at once gentle, soulful, and body shaking. It navigates through many emotions and, when all sails are up, rides the wind of inspiration gracefully and convincingly. From dirty syncopated dance beats to tender Americana lullabies, The Slip enables a journey for listener.

The Radiators

"All the way from New Orleans, Louisiana to be with us today, VibeTribe, please give a warm, Gathering of the Vibes welcome to the Radiators!" You heard it a couple years ago at beautiful Seaside Park in Bridgeport, when the Rad's took us all to another level. We look forward to you taking us there again. Welcome back guys!

And to close out the Main Stage at Vibes 2004, we've got a couple ideas in mind, but no band that we can announce just yet. Nope, it's not going to be The Dead, Phish or even The Rolling Stones (although Mick & Keith have a studio in Mariaville, so I'm told...not!) Looks like Terrapin's Finacial problems over the past year has taken its toll, this fest is seriously scaled down compared to the 2 night PLQ headline at GOTV 2002, that said I still might go.

Ya I loved ILCC, every biker I met was solid gold, though some didn't have it so good. It's a shame the good people at TP are having so many problems while corporate-whores like Superfly are rolling in the cash. I want to go, though I feel the ticket price (as always) is to high, and I guess they won't be doing the day pass system this year....I'm just glad The Vibes didn't die, it wasn't looking good all winter.
