NewRider
so I went to get my tent ready today for the weekend to find I'm missing all the tent poles! Does anyone know if you can actually buy just the poles for a tent? I'm sure a lot of tents are different so I don't know if this is possible or not... SHIT! CyberHippie
Canadian tire does sell individual tent poles, but whether they would be the proper length is another story. I bought one but it's about an inch too long for my tent.
c-towns
If its those poles that break apart with the elastic string inside, those can easily be cut to size yo.
NewRider
yeah it is those poles, I checked the Tire's website but there is no results for searches on tent poles. I've heard Walmart sells 'em so I'm gonna go around and check tonight after I measure my stupid-ass tent!

I guess it doesn't matter if the elastic string is a bit longer? What's the best way to cut the pole?
c-towns
there is usually metal tips on the ends of the poles, these will actually slide off. the only thing holding the elastic string inside is the knot on the ends of the string. Untie one end (make sure not to let the elastic slide all the way throughthe sections of poles)pull off one section of pole, cut with hacksaw, thread elastic back through, tie knot, put metal piece back on, glue may be required.(huffing optional) hope that helps. peace.jamesd.
