secondtube Posted May 25, 2004 Author Report Share Posted May 25, 2004 no use. but it reminds me of what happened when jeffrey was kicked out of BnB. they wrote something about it being all good, then had to change it slightly when jeffrey didn't agree with what was written. i wonder if one of the band members suggested they change it to read "from trey"... MAYBE they wanted the fans to know who in teh bands decision this was... thats what i'm taking from the change...nothing about it not being real.... i cant wait until on of the members, but not mike, writes a tell all book. mikes too insane, and has far to creative of an imagination....Page would be best. Esau Posted May 25, 2004 Report Share Posted May 25, 2004 Well that definatley is shit if its true,was always glad to see another band take on the tour scene like the Grateful Dead did (quite a responsibilty to have for musicians really).Even with all my snide comments (usually to get people worked up) I really do dig Phish and enjoy their music. I'm hanging onto a thin thread of the "site was hacked",it would really be a loss if its true. Fuck,I always respected Phish because they took all the sketchy folks off the real tour scene. Once we started talking, it quickly became apparent that the other guys' feelings, while not all the same as mine, were similar in many ways -- most importantly, that we all love and respect Phish and the Phish audience far too much to stand by and allow it to drag on beyond the point of vibrancy and health. We don't want to become caricatures of ourselves, or worse yet, a nostalgia act. By the end of the meeting, we realized that after almost twenty-one years together we were faced with the opportunity to graciously step away in unison, as a group, united in our friendship and our feelings of gratitude. So Coventry will be the final Phish show. We are proud and thrilled that it will be in our home state of Vermont. We're also excited for the June and August shows, our last tour together. For the sake of clarity, I should say that this is not like the hiatus, which was our last attempt to revitalize ourselves. We're done. It's been an amazing and incredible journey. If they continue on only playing once in a while, they will not be what Phish is all about.....honed music, constant playing, always touring. sucks though....i'll have to score those SPAC tics quick! And they don't hate the West, they just don't have any dates booked there and well they're breaking up - its not like they're gonna be like "oh wait, one show out West and then we'll break up". Hopefully we'll ALL be there for the phinal pharewell. It's quite obvious that anyone who was sitting on the phence has final jumped on the train for this one. I know I have. That will be an interesting 2 weekends of phestivals though. The Northeast Kingdom Music Fest with nero and other bands, and then, Phish's bye-bye phest. Secondtube makes an interesting point about it reading "message from Trey". I know that if I didn't wholeheartedly agree with the decision, and wanted to keep going(and if I was in the band), I'd probably push for that title as well.
