AD
And let's not forget Jon Spencer Blues Explosion late June at Babylon fer Chrisakes,.... ad
Guest Low Roller
Well it looks like Barrymore's is feeling the crunch from CMH because they are closing down for renovations between May 24th to June 10th. Of course if you look at their schedule for the rest of June it's the exact same crappy cover bands that play there every month.
gentlemonkey
WOW! Wilco and JOn Spencer is news to me. If I can, I'll be at both.. Wont be around for Sonic Youth or Gomez unfortunatley, but hopefully get to go do those folk fest preformances, when is that? Bela Fleck July 2nd also! Guest Low Roller
Here are the Montreal Jazzfest shows I want to hit up: July 1st: John Scofield Trio @Spectrum July 2nd: Burning Spear @Metropolis July 3rd: Bela Fleck and the Flecktones @Place Des Arts July 5th: The Bad Plus @Spectrum July 6th: Bullfrog @Club Soda July 7th: Galactic @Spectrum July 8th: The Roots @Metropolis & Jaga Jazzist @Club Soda Unfortunately most of these shows are during the week, so I'll have to see about work et al. Also the Branford Marsalis show is already sold-out, but if anybody has any "connections", I'll gladly pay a bunch of money or help volunteer at the event if needed. I cannot miss another Marsalis show ever again.
ollie
August 4th: Wilco August 5th: String Cheese Incident August 6th: Sonic Youth :: I'm a life long Sonic Youth fan, never seen them live and I have killer tickets to see the Dead at Darien Lake on the 6th. :: Ah well, I'll go to Wilco and possibly SCI. Ottawa hasn't seen it this good in a looooooong time.
Guest Low Roller
That would be such an easy choice for me Ollie. If you've already seen The Dead, then skip them and see Sonic Youth instead. Or find out where they are playing after Ottawa, and hit them up after The Dead.
AD
They're playing on the 5th in Toronto as part of Lollapalooza, and I imagine they're playing the 7th or 8th in Montreal ad
Guest Low Roller
ARGH! I forgot about Lollapalooza~! Day One (August 5th) will see Morrissey, Sonic Youth!, Modest Mouse, Le Tigre, The Von Bondies!!, Broken Social Scene, The Walkmen, Wolf Eyes, Danger Mouse, The Datsuns, Sparta and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Day Two’s (August 6th) bands include String Cheese Incident, The Flaming Lips, Wilco, Gomez, Polyphonic Spree, TV On The Radio, The Thrills, The Coup, Sound Tribe Sector 9!!, Elbow!!!!!! and Wheat. I think I'll be doing this instead of the CMH run in Ottawa. ::
