High Plains Drifter is an original groove/funk and world-beat ensemble whose live performances have been captivating audiences across Atlantic Canada. Showcasing funk, jazz fusion, and Afro-Cuban rhythms, High Plains Drifter’s original material displays an innovative blend of such influences, creating a highly infectious and danceable genre all their own.

Since it’s inception in 2003, High Plains Drifter has built a sturdy fan base with their ability to share the energy of musical performance and celebration with their listeners. Talented and flexible, the band has been known to incorporate DJ’s (DJ RainForce), extra horns (Eric Landry, Matt Myers), and percussionists (Ian MacIntyre, Neil MacQuarrie, Chris Cookson, Andru Branch) into their mix. The band’s creative influences include James Brown, MMW, Frank Zappa, The Funky Meters and Parliament, to name just a few.

Fresh from the release of their debut album, “13 Cents”, the High Plains Drifter machine is fuelled and ready to embark on a summer tour of clubs and festivals in Atlantic Canada and Ontario, and are hoping to entertain you in the near future.
