i really dont know what im going to be able to see, but the highest on my priority list are the 3 Slip shows (actually, these are 100%, im there!), nero w/ contact, gtb/jsb, burt neilson (but i'll probably hold out for a london show and hope some of you fu©cker come down here for once), mmw, maybe moe., and i thought i saw something posted before about a caution jam/rose garland night at pjc in november? i think that'd just be a lot of fun with good people.

I can't get my head around it all, but here's what comes to the top of mind:

Diesel Dog/Harvard Mouse/U of W Drum Club Fri. Sept. 17 at the Lanc in Kitchener (I don't think I can miss this one! ;) ::)

nero/Contact at Pepper Jack's in Hamilton Fri. Sept. 24

Mr. Something Something & Contact Fri. Oct. 1 at the Lanc in Kitchener (gotta support this great local show, unless I make a trek to Algonquin Park this weekend)

Soulive / Gov't Mule / Little Feat / moe. / MMW in Toronto ... hopefully I'll be able to get to at least a few of these

Diesel Dog & Fat Cats in Hamilton on Oct. 30

the Slip and Stephen Franke at Pepper Jack's in October

and if Benevento & Russo come to this part of the world, I am so there!!!

plus I'm sure I missed a bunch ...

Now I know why I decided to hold off on putting on a bunch of shows in the fall ...

Peace, Mark

These 3 acts should set up a cruiseline. Can you imagine a weeks worth of The Slip, Franke, and B&R?

Groove Cruise 2005

with:

The Slip

Benevento/Russo/Gordon

Stephen Franke and Noises from the Toolshed

The Tummies

I'm pumped about seeing the Pixies in Hull. I'm a poser and not completely up on their history but I like what I've heard, and I like the depanneur, so I'm sure it will be a good night.

I was never a Pixies fan in the 80's and 90's. I was listening to other things - I rebelled against alternative rock. Now I love early alt-rock bands that I rebelled against but never really listened to like The Pixies and The Replacements. I still hate R.E.M. however.

Imagine this: two very talented musicians who haven’t seen each other or played with each other since eighth grade, meeting up and reacquainting in the mother of all cities, NYC. And imagine their first gig as a duo being of all things a birthday tribute for Madonna! Growing up in New Jersey, Marco Benevento & Joe Russo used to each play in the Jazz Band at their middle school. They even once played together in Russo’s basement. Ah, the beginnings of greatness.
