1979
latest ads on t.v using good ol classic rock tunes ? I understand the whole aspect of marketing but this is being treated as a pathetic gimmick to target baby boomers to buy buy buy - - for example Cadillac commercial - Led Zeppelin - Grand n Toy - David Bowie etc Whats your take???could another type of jingle be ysed or what ever happened to imagination or writing a riff that could make you rich rather than paying royalty to already successful musicians? SaggyBalls
i'm glad the artists are getting the royalties from the ads. if the youth of today can't rock out to it anymore then the legends and their estates deserve the lucre. h
I was watching a Kate Hudson movie the other night with a girl in her late 20s - they did a big DEVO thing - she didnt know DEVO at all - but she knew the SWIFFER commercial alright - i found that incredibly frustrating - and ya, i like kate hudson - whats it to ya? P.S. I have felt young and wild in a caddy
SpaceWrangler
I like hearing the classics (well most anyway), but love it when less mainstream artists are out there as well. Like Gomez's "Shot Shot" on the Nissan commercial, or Richard Buckner's "Ariel Ramirez" on the VW Touareg one. That definitely catches and holds my attention more effectively.
