scottieking
So I have at my disposal every single Elliot Smith recording. I however am unfamilar with most of it and seek to create the Ultimate Elliot Mix. What I need are the "not to be left out" suggestions. Thanks. Stapes
"I didn't understand" for sure. "Baby Brittain" is good too.He also played guitar on a cover of "Birthday Boy" by Ween with some female vocalist(little help Tonnberry) Which is quite good. SaggyBalls
i have figure eight and XO...he did a lot for the good will hunting record...pick up the new biography at Chapters Elliot Smith and the Big Nothing he's one of the only people that makes me want to cry just to think about. all he wanted to do with his work was express what it was like to be alive. what a sad sad man. way too early. MamaPink
I agree with beats... I've liked pretty much everything I've heard by Elliot Smith. I think it was a combined effort of Tonberry and Stapes who introduced me to his music. They made this great compilation cd that i STILL haven't thrown in the fireplace
Tonberry
Hahahaha... I heard you really liked the mixes that I had a hand in... Isn't that ironic?
AdamH
I don't think you can go wrong with any of Elliot's music, although I'm partial to XO. His newest still makes me want to cry though
RUSTLE
I am going to have to agree with ahess. You can't really go wrong, but I would for sure, end the mix with "Twilight" from his last record - that has to be one of the most beautiful and tragic songs he's ever written (given the circumstances of his death)... scottieking
Funny, I put Twilight on my fall mix this year. Thanks again, everybody. I may spend tonight doing this.
