I just got this email about the Gov't Mule setlist

from last night in New Orleans ... the show they billed as "The Deepest End" ... this is pretty amazing, even just to think about:

----

New Orleans' Seanger Theatre hosted 13 - count 'em, 13 (well, 14 if you count the tuba player) -- bassists playing with the Boys to a full house for slightly less than six hours -- and the Mule managed to fit in three encores, to boot.

No announcement was made about who the new bassist is to be.

It's too late to provide anything more than the setlist to tonight's show.

Sonny Landreth!

It takes a humble and ballsy guitarist like Warren to have someone as influental and talented as Sonny playing slide with the Mule on a couple of tunes. For modern slide guitarists, Sonny's in a class that includes only a few others - Ry Cooder, Roy Rogers, Johnny Winter and Derek Trucks. I wish I was there!

Oh my lord!! Imagine being at that one. Hottest ticket in town for sure. The energy must have been through the roof that night too. I agree Newsted did well to get out of Metallica when he did, i saw him play in Ann Arbor with Mule and it was an intense, really rocking show. Lots of sabbath that night as well.
