Been a lot of stuff cycling through the player lately but at this exact moment it's:

Trey - Plasma - Disk 1

Trey - Plasma - Disk 2

Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds - Catchin' Some Rays - Disk 2

Ry Cooder & Manuel Galbán - Mambo Sinuendo

Beck - Midnight Vultures

Eclectic or what?

1- Dopler (D)effect - a live show from 2002, these guys are great impovisionists (if that is a word) saw them here in Calgary 2 weekends ago, they're from B.C.

2 - String Cheese Incident - Carnival '99, Disc 1 & 2, sweet compilation of shows

3 - Nero - 31/12/02, wish I was there.

4 - Les Claypool's FFFB - Purple Onion, mmmm bass

5 - The Slip - The album name is "slipping" my mind right now, but its the newest release and its had its place for the past few weeks now.

Hey c-towns - how was that show? I saw them here in Vancouver a few weeks ago - but they had been hyped-up too much, and I was a bit disappointed. It was too avant-garde, you couldn't dance to it and Rich Rabnett held-back way too much on the guitar. He's an incredible jazz player, but you wouldn't know it from that band. (He has his own jazz quintet here in Vancouver.) They're all really amazing players, though - that drummer is insane! (Oh, and I think the word is "improvisors")

Because I'm bored and things seem to be at a bit of a lull around here as of late.....

What are you listening to?

Me, here's 5 I've been checking out as of the past couple of days:

2) Keith Jarrett - The Koln Concert

1) Simon and Garfunkle- live in Central Park, NYC>>> WOW, what a show that would've been!

2) Dinosaur Jr- Bug>> back in the day when the catchy heartache melodies were just peeking through the sludge; totally forgot how good this one was

3) Miles Davis- Birth of Cool; Vote for Miles!

4) The Smiths- The Queen is Dead>>> curious if anyone else digs these guys? Haven't listened to it in years (Rolling Stone gave it the "retro" album 5star spotlight this month); truely a landmark album from the wonderful 80's [Wink] .

5) Sound Tribe Sector 5- offered schematics for suggesting peace>>> thought I'd give them a try; Prognosis: snnnnnnorrrrrr; doesn't hold a candle to New Deal!
