dave-O
I checked out Montreal's Stars last night. They drew between 40-50 people, not bad for Moncton on a cold Wednesday night with little promo. Good, tight band doing the rich texture, romantic pop thing. I wasn't expecting to be blown away with musicianship but I was most impressed with the melodic bass playing (I believe Evan Cranley doubles as Broken Social Scene's bassist from time to time?). Not many bands can pull off the boy/girl duet without sounding cheesy, but Stars did it. Recommended.
shainhouse
Stars are great. Fuilly recommended, but right up my alley. I love tight, well composed power pop.
