shainhouse
Hey ya'll...Two really tantalizing shows caught my eye and I was wondering if anyone was interested in checking either of them out; 1. Emiliana Torrini & David Kitt @ the El Mocambo.- I discovered both of these artists' in the UK. Emiliana has a gorgeous voice, reminiscent of Joni Mitchell and Francois Hardy, while David Kitt is a brilliant Irish singer/songwriter in the vein of Damien Rice and Graham Coxon. It's not jammy, for those interested in great songwriting, this is a great night. It's $15 at the door; not cheap, but worth it. 8PM2. Afrodizz @ The Supermarket- Francophone Afrobeat band. One of the best of its kind. I'm not sure of this new venue but it's hosting LAL tonight, so it seems to be world beat, nu-funk oriented. 268 Augusta Ave, $10. Boochawan
I can vouch for Afrodizz - I've seen them a few times in Montreal. Great stuff here.
Kaidy Mae
Yeah, that's more what I'm thinking too. The El Mo sounds promising and all, but possibly a little too mellow. It's Friday for fuck's sake, I need to shimmy off the work week. Yeow!
