Calamity Jane Posted June 25, 2005 Report Share Posted June 25, 2005 WOWSA -- I can't believe we pulled this night off. What was supposed to be dinner with KM et al, turned into an all-night rager. Thanks to Snail & Amanda for coming through with some last-minute babysitting (we dropped the kids off sans jammies, toothbrushes or clothes for the morning -- and contrary to popular belief, we DID actually slow down before we turfed them out of the car. Snail & A -- you guys rock; thanks for taking care of things!) we enjoyed the Moses Mayes set at the Gypsy and grooved to the funk, then made it over to the El Mo for Wassabi's second set. AWESOME INDEED! Melissa is a goddess-- truly mesmerizing to watch. Such incredible energy the band put out for the crowd....who gave it right back. Any folks planning to 'find them' tonight --- ENJOY!! (after a half-hour 'lie-down' at 6 this morning, then doing the dyke brunch, I now think I'm ready to crawl into bed.
