Mr. Musicface Posted January 22, 2003 Report Share Posted January 22, 2003 Hmm, well at work I've got about 14 gigs of MP3s that I just keep on permanent shuffle, although the last few things I downloaded or ripped in are probably: * Johnny Cash - American IV: The Man Comes Around (just got it yesterday, excellent!) * CCR - The Best of... * Phish - NYE and Hampton shows * Arc Angels debut (found it at Best Buy in a bin for 8.99 - well worth it!) * Bela Fleck - UFO Tofu Oh also, I have the Dr. Huxtable MP3s recorded by BradM from 09/18/2003 in there - nice stuff guys! http://www.drhuxtable.com/html/dr_mp3s.htm is the place for that. "Airbourne" & "N.F.O." I think are my faves. Hey, you guys ever listen to any Bourbon Tabernacle Choir? There's definitely some moments in there that remind me of them. At home, I've lately been alternating between "Round Room" and Emerson Lake & Palmer's "Tarkus": Ahhh, there's nothing quite like old-school prog - they don't make drugs like that anymore. Check out Lemonjelly.ky or Lost Horizons, the first is a collection of EP's, the second is their first full length... Blue States- Nothing Changes Under the Sun Like Tortoise meets Lemonjelly, i'm loving this new 'hybrid' of genres that's heavy on the music, melodies and sounds....much more appealing than bands trying to imitate trance imho.... Ginger Baker Trio - Going Back Home GB with Charlie Haden and Bill Frisell...nuff said. well, except the fact it's one of the richest sounding albums i've ever heard.... I just listened to the show, and there is like a three second pause between the songs. When the setlist is written, do the writers think the show will look better on paper if its all seagued? Blue Grassy High, better known for their slapstick humour and baked goods, have released an album of such epic proportions, that music executives have been forced to see the error of their ways. Major music labels are dumping flash-in-the-pan acts in hopes of clearing enough financing for what they predict will revolutionize the entire music industry, nay, entire civilizations. Sony Music has sent untalented acts such as the Backstreet Boys, Mariah Carey and Michael "Freak" Jackson packing, and are currently in a bidding war over the rights to Blue Grassy High. Other labels such as Geffen, Elektra, and Bluenote are currently engaged with Sony in extreme warfare in the streets of Ottawa, toppling entire buildings (most notably the American embassy) with round after round of heavy artillery fire. Communication lines with the front line have been severed since late Monday. Blue Grassy High's debut album "Oven Cake" has not only caused an open war among music labels, but also pandemonium among the general populace who are in a state of imbalance, after reports came out that "Oven Cake" has sold out nation wide. Late Tuesday rumours began circulating that "Oven Cake" was available on such popular peer-to-peer programs such as Kazaa, Direct Connect, and Pornster. Three hours later the Internet stopped working causing a worldwide frenzy. When asked about the recent public hysteria, Blue Grassy High banjoist Dave-O had the following to say:"What are you talking about? Who the hell are you??" The grief stricken banjoist has cleary lost all memory, and seems to be coping very poorly with recent events. The current whereabouts of the other band members (Boouche, Cliff, and Drummer) are unknown, but rumours are circulating that Blue Grassy High are already hard(ly) at work producing a new album tentatively entitled "OBEY!"
