Bidini's book tour set for September

Dave's new book, The Best Game You Can Name, the title of which is stolen from idol Stompin' Tom Connors' "The Hockey Song," is set for nation-wide release on September 6, 2005. Published, once again, by McLelland and Stewart, you can read the industry buzz here.

The book describes a single game of Bidini's team in Toronto's musicians' league and, in the fashion of his much-loved first book, On a Cold Road, is interwoven with anecdotes provided by hockey stars from the 1960s and '70s.

Dave's also doing a cross-country promo tour. Appearances will include reading and performance, followed by Q&A. Click here for your electronic invitation!

Dave has provided an unedited sample chapter, called "Hoser's Promenade," downloadable here in .pdf format. Dave calls it the "music-ish" chapter of the new book, which makes it suitable for posting to this site. Who'da thunk Frank Mahovlich was so fond of painting?
