Format:

I suggest that we do an e-mail draft, and that we break up people into divisions (say 5 divisions of 5 people?). That way the talent pool won't be diluted too much (imagine 25 picks per round??) , and smaller e-mail drafts will be easier to manage. Also this way the same player can be selected multiple times, but not within the same division.

The winner will be the player which has the most points overall.

Draft:

10 rounds (must have 6 forwards, 3 defence, 1 keeper) selected in any order (just to add a little spice)

Point allocation:

F and D:

1 point per goal or assist

+1 point for game winning goal

G:

1 point per win

1 point per assist (or goal I guess)

+5 point for shutout

I say we leave +/- out of it, because things just get hairy.

Deadlines:

- I say we cap the amount of participants at 25 or Aug. 31st, whichever comes first.

- Random draw on Sept. 1st to determine the divisions.

- Each division nominates a delegate.

- Delegates trade e-mails to nomiate pool manager and to finalize details.

- Draft gets underway Sept. 5th, administered by divisional delegates, with conflict resolution by pool manager.

Anybody know of a good pool manager website? I used to use Officepools, but I think they charge now...

Oh right, Labour Day, I forgot about that one...

Well if everyone agrees with my proposed format, it will be up to the divisional delegates to ensure that the draft is completed on time before the season starts. I guess it's irrelevant as to when it actually starts.

Let's set up the draft on OfficePools then.

Do we want to include a trade element as well? A three trade limit is usually the way to go.

I will get an account on Office Pools today. We can use it regardless of what format we use. I like your idea Low Roller. Lets see how many people we get involved. If we get 20 plus I say we go with it. The only snag I see is getting a delegate from each team to conduct the drafts. If its a problem I dont mind moderating all the drafts. I have the time and the expertise :)

Well if you want the full burden of managing multiple drafts, then by all means I won't stop you. ;)

Let's rustle up some final names and try to hit 25 people...

Prizes should run as follows (assuming we go with the CD idea and 5 divisions of 5 people). Everybody must burn 2 CDs/DVDs. They will be distributed in the following way:

- Divisional winner gets a disc from everyone in the division. NET: 4 CDs

- Divisional winner gives a disc to the divisional loser.

- Overall winner gets a disc from everybody. NET: 24 CDs

- Overall winner gives a disc to the overall loser.

Registration is getting awfully close to being complete. Could the people with question marks next to their name please confirm or deny their participation in the hockey pool?
