Anyone else voting in a by-election today?

I live in the contested Toronto-Danforth riding. Former Citytv, CBC, Toronto-One newsman Ben Chin is running for the Liberals against NDP'er Peter Tabuns. The PC candidate has no chance of winning or platform other than being Greek. I'm voting for Tabuns. Chin is going to get his ass handed to him, especially after he threw his support behind the ill-advised massive power station proposal on the waterfront.

not to get away from the topic but, there is already a massive power station close to the waterfront and I don't think anyone had even realized it yet.

[color:red]the CN tower. the wind up there blows at 100kms/hour (approx) when there isn't a noticeable wind at ground level. Most days the wind is even stronger up there. So why not find a way to capture the wind to spin some turbines??? or even one of those windmills up there?? just a thought.

They certainly know about it in this riding. Also, Tabuns wants altenative power consumption ideas implimented too, instead of building a massive power generator next to the abandoned one. He also wants to use the plant that's already there.

To be fair, many people in Toronto don't know what's down at the waterfront and can you blame them? Who'd want to go down there and hang around industrial land or trespass on condo land that blocks and blights the waterfront?

The latest development and redevelopment of the area bordering Parliment/Corktown/Mill Street and Front Street is exciting and will lead to waterfront renewal.

We've got one up in Nepean-Carleton today, too (I was supposed to be the DRO [Deputy Returning Officer] for our district, but had to back out after I got full-time work for this week). This one is to replace John Baird ©, who's shuttled over to his federal colleagues.

Get out there and vote well, Nepean-Carletonites!
