for me it's also Husker Du. Saw them at Larrys Hideaway, I think shortly after New Day Rising was released. Could barely make out the songs that they were playing - though not quite as bad as on Land Speed Record.

interesting tidbit - David Barbe of Sugar was also the engineer on some of Widespread Panic's albums, and has produced album(s) by Bloodkin. (His connection to that scene comes through John Keane, I believe.)
