fluffhead77
Anyone remember the band Sugar? I would put their album Copper Blue up in the upper echelon of my favorite albums...anyway ran across a video for Helpless on you tube...not a great video, but a fantastic song!! fluffhead77
Nice one Mary! I think I really missed something by not seeing them live... Husker Du were great but didn't have the hooks that Sugar gets into ya...Hoover Dam, If I can't change your mind, Helpless, ...the list goes on... Big Wooly Mammoth
for me it's also Husker Du. Saw them at Larrys Hideaway, I think shortly after New Day Rising was released. Could barely make out the songs that they were playing - though not quite as bad as on Land Speed Record. interesting tidbit - David Barbe of Sugar was also the engineer on some of Widespread Panic's albums, and has produced album(s) by Bloodkin. (His connection to that scene comes through John Keane, I believe.)
Tungsten Gruvsten
heheh yeah I remember one of my buddies in highschool pushing Husker Du on me, and I found 'Land Speed Record' used on cassette...wow what a terrible sounding thing! I didn't mind there stuff but when Sugar came out and the Bob Mould solo albums I revisited a couple other HD albums, there's some killer stuff in there.
