I have been to a number of shows at Rama, and if you have floor seats there, they will let you go up to an area in front of the stage for dancin and such, but if you stay in the seating area they really frown on the standing and dancing, I assume Niagara is pretty much the same. A casino just doesnt seem like the right kind of venue for a band like ABB, and I really cant imagine them opening for Petty.

Has anybody on this board been to the Niagara Falls casino venue? It's pretty new I think, built in the last few years. I'm guessing it's a sweet sounding venue. But it will be a drag if people aren't standing/dancing.

I'm guessing that ABB will be headlining the Darien Lake show. I've seen them at Darien Lake a few times, and it has always been pretty full with them headlining. But those shows were on Saturday nights 3 to 5 years ago. I wasn't at the last ABB Darien show ... I think it was 2 years ago.

Peace, Mark

I havent been to the Casino in Niagara Falls, however it looks like most of the shows they get there are kinda pricey as far as tix go ($70-$100)

All the reports I have heard is that is a good sounding theatre however.

Also, from the reports I have seen so far it looks like Tom Petty will be the headline act in Darien Lake (mightbe a double bill, but it seems Petty will be playing after ABB)

I suppose the trick is to get into just the right headspace that you're incapable of dancing but not so far gone that you can't stay awake and enjoy the music ;).

I call it the Corrupting Influence of Pink Floyd (inasmuch as there might be such a thing). Seeing them was the first experience I ever had of watching an audience go apeshit when they hit the stage, and then sit down and be quiet as rabbits once they started playing.

Actually, that's all very silly. I blame it in the end on Canada's Protestant, pickle-up-ass attitude towards public gatherings (which I suppose is all the more ironic, given that it is a casino).

I saw Gord Lightfoot there a couple of months ago. That show was sort of naturally a sit-down kinda show. I enjoyed it. But yeah, sitting in your seat for Allmans is a whole different story.

I find it sad that they are not able to fill Molson Amp
