making scented oils

hey Karin,

I make alot of my own yummy stuff like this, and in all honesty, have found that buying the essential oils and carrier oils (and mixing them to your desired strength) is a much simpler and error-free route to take.

Distilling oil from flowers takes special equippment (not to mention a truckload of flowers) And I've found that just putting the fresh flowers in the oil will not produce a strong enough scent. The additional, and yuckier, problem is that the flowers/petals will sometimes go moldy in the oils ---

so again I recommend heading to the health food store (or soap-making supply store if there's one around) for the oils.

Sweet Almond Oil or Avocado Oil are great carrier oils for body oils. Coconut oil is great to use as a base for roll-on 'perfume'

hope you have fun with it!
