Jaimoe
Check out McCoy Tyner's smoking piano solo. McCoy's playing at this year's Toronto and Ottawa jazz fesivals.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olOYynQ-_Hw&search=john%20coltrane
bradm
As good as the solo is, that little break he takes just after the song starts floors me. It's like he can play any note at any time, and still be able to make it make sense; it's also less chordal than his solo, which makes it sound more like he's "dancing" around the melody/harmony, whereas there are a lot more "bombs" being dropped during the later solo that he takes.Aloha,Brad
