StoneMtn
XAVIER RUDDFriday, June 2ndMALKIN BOWL IN STANLEY PARKVANCOUVER B.C.DOORS: 6:00 pm SHOW: 7:00 pm**GENERAL ADMISSION**WITH SPECIAL GUESTThe didgeridoo! To some, this instrument is nothing more than an interesting sound that can add flavour to a song. In Xavier Rudd's hands (and mouth), however, the didgeridoo becomes an awesome instrument with the power to move people to dance or cry.Rudd is accomplished at more than just the didgeridoo, however. Tongue drums, stomp boxes, djembes, harmonica, ankle bells, and slide banjo--all are played by Rudd on Solace, the Canadian/Australian surf/roots artist's debut. Besides showing the 27-year-old musician's talent on a variety of instruments, the disc demonstrates Rudd's song writing talents on songs like the crowd favourite "Let Me Be" and the consciousness-raising "A Fourth World". Rudd's latest album Food in the Belly will be released in mid-April.Meanwhile, Rudd's conviction, passion, and skill at playing a number of instruments simultaneously have stunned audiences and critics alike, and earned him a live following that regularly sells out his appearances at clubs, theatres and halls all over the world. Don't miss your chance to see Xavier Rudd live in Vancouver at Malkin Bowl on Friday, June 2nd with special guest.Tickets: $29.50 (INCL. GST) + s/c + f.f.
