Weeks after scoring a career-first No. 1 debut with his latest album, "3121," veteran musician Prince has booked a two-night stand in Las Vegas.

The shows are set to take place May 27-28 at the Empire Ballroom, which will be dubbed the 3121 Nightclub during Prince's stay, according to organizers. The general-admission venue, which is located on the Las Vegas strip, holds about 1,500 people.

Tamar, Prince's latest in a long string of female proteges, will be the special guest for both shows. The R&B vocalist appears on the "3121" cut "Beautiful, Loved and Blessed."

Tickets for the gig go on sale to the general public Wednesday (5/10), and will cost $312.01 each, according to show promoter AEG Live. There will be a two-ticket limit, and ticketholders must be 21 years of age or older.

Members of Prince's NPG Music Club have an early shot at tickets via an online presale that takes place Tuesday (5/9), according to an email message the club sent to its members.

No additional tour plans have been announced, but the NPG announcement said that the Vegas shows "will be historic nights 2 kick off what will surely be the first of many 3121 per4mances 2 come."

"3121" follows Prince's critically acclaimed 2004 release, "Musicology." The new set, which hit stores in late March, sold about 183,000 copies during its first week of release, enough to give Prince his first No. 1 debut on The Billboard 200 album chart. The disc features the cut "Black Sweat."
