Dr. J
Check this guy out. He'll be famliar to anyone who's seen John Prine lately. He records on John's Oh Boy label. The Work Song has got to be one of the best one line songs I've ever heard.Give it a shot...unless you're at work...then don't.Dan Reeder

Calamity Jane
thanks Dr J...I've been kicking myself for not picking up his CD at the Prine showHe has a disarming charm to his stage presence, if that makes sense....a little self-conscious, yet comfortable with his playing, a great story-teller but without the smooth "filter" a more seasoned performer has. He told some hilarious stories, and always looked taken aback that he elicited such laughter.
Grand MC Wassa
He apparently was named poet laureate in the states this past year. I'd rather have them cut me up and pass me around too, and I've lost to a bowl of oatmeal before.
Calamity Jane
Hey Grand MC, do you mean John Prine? cool news!My ultra-better-half, Dave, just (as in just this evening, with half a dozen listens --- jukebox chameleon that he is) learned "Please Don't Bury Me"...(one of my favs) so that I can vocally slaughter it (with gusto and glee...ya can't ever deny my enthusiam) while he faithfully plays it on guitar!
