I don't know, they both can be put into the same arrangement pattern:

tMt (two turntables and a microphone)

tMtMt (three turntables and two microphones)

Each Microphone has a turntable on either side of it, and there are turntables at each end.

(I sometimes play a 2-between-3-giving-5 rhythmic pattern, like [ABABA][ABABA][ABABA], but you can lay a lot of different rhthmic interpretations on top of it.)

I've got an old peice of shit turntable and a microphone that's attached to my kid's tape recorder.... that probably sounds worse.

If you call BBR, you can schedual a slot in their FREE turntable clinic...i think its once or twice a week...you get a private appointment with their turntable guy who will go over everything with you...and honestly tell you what needs to be replaced etc. He checks everything, and its a great way to learn his tips and tricks. They validate too so you can get 2 hrs free in the manulife building parking lot. whoohoooo!
