An evening of Afro-Beat, Latin Rhythms & Psychedelic Soul with

JARIMBA

Start with West African traditional music, add some Cuban spice, mix in a dash of jazz, reggae and hip-hop and you’ve got the unique sound of Jarimba. With a stellar cast of players from L.A., Montreal, Vancouver, and Guinea, and unique instrumentation, they are quickly gaining notice in their hometown of Vancouver. The brainchild of Robin Layne, a graduate of the L.A. Music Academy and one of North America’s only jazz marimba players, the band also features Kocassalé Dioubate on lead vocals and djembe, Brendan Krieg on drums & percussion, Diego Zaragoza on congas, Evan Bates on bass and James Baldwin on guitar.

Blending enthusiastic stage prescence along with psychedelia, jazz-funk fusion and extended jamming in the spirit of the Allman Brothers and the Grateful Dead, Baked Potato provides a staple of fast and furious arrangements of well crafted, jam-laden, horn fuelled jam-funk explorations.
