phorbesie Posted March 5, 2007 Report Share Posted March 5, 2007 went to quebec city and the ice hotel this weekend. it was awesome!!! really neat. we drank delicious maple whiskey out of ice glasses, had a yummy dinner in the lodge, hot tub and sauna all night with martinis, and slept in an ice room! here's a few pics i took: Ice hotel Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

phorbesie Posted March 5, 2007 Author Report Share Posted March 5, 2007 it is cold. you do get your own room but there is a curtain instead of a door. your bed is ice with a thin mattress and fur over it, you sleep in a mummy bag. the bathrooms are down the hall (shared) and showers are up at the main lodge (where the restaurant is). during the day and evening there were other people walking around but after 8 or 9 pm it is for hotel guests only. there are 36 rooms there but i'd say it was only half full if that, judging from how many people we saw. there are 2 hot tubs (in a courtyard) and it was never overcrowded. i had the sauna all to myself.
