Kanada Kev
I know there are some fans here, so I thought this would be of interest (at least hte Apostle of Hustle portion):Hey, hipsters…From Toronto, it’s Apostle of Hustle (Andrew Whiteman of Broken Social Scene), recorded at the Rivoli in Toronto, celebrating the release of their second CD. Later, listen to the 85-member York University Gospel Choir in their rousing year-end concert, recorded at York University's brand new Tribute Communities Recital Hall. Airs Saturday, May 12 at 8 p.m. on CBC Radio 2’s Canada Live.
Kanada Kev
And they'll be on CBC Radio once again:Fuse…Apostle of Hustle mixes indie rock with dense, Cuban rhythms. Tanya Tagaq mixes it up with only her voice, combining Inuit throat singing with breathy sighs. Together, Tanya and Apostle of Hustle create a new kind of North-meets-South sound, where rhythm rules and cultures fuse. Very cool. Fuse is heard Saturdays at 3 p.m. on CBC Radio One, Sundays at 5 p.m. on CBC Radio 2.
