A jury acquitted a 21-year-old man Thursday of setting a July 2005 fire that destroyed the oldest strip mall in Gatineau's Aylmer sector.The jury did not know McGowan pleaded guilty to six counts of arson committed in the same neighbourhood as the Glenwood Plaza.McGowan's lawyer, Jean-Luc Paris, said the judge deliberately waited until the jury was sequestered before making McGowan's earlier guilty pleas public.
