Happy Beaujolais Nouveau Day!

Many wine critics criticize the "simple" or "immature" wines marketed as Beaujolais Nouveau, for instance Karen MacNeil has compared drinking Beaujolais Nouveau to eating cookie dough.

That's funny. I usually prefer my red wines thicker than blood but I may 'get with the spirit' and grab a couple of bottles on the way home from work tonight.

I just got back from the LCBO, with a Mommessin, a Georges Dubeuf, a Jeanjean (a Syrah), and an Italian one, Mezzacorona. I also got a bottle of Twisted Thistle IPA, and a Harviestoun "Bitter & Twisted" blond beer.

The beers are going in the fridge, the wines in the basement cellar.
