phorbesie
would it be possible bouche, to put a little square on the menu (where the squares are to insert an image, url, bold, etc) to insert a youtube video? i can't get it to work and even though i asked help with the template it still doesn't work. that would make it so much easier

Then, in the dropdown menu to the left and below where it says "Include Signature""Disable"Use MarkupJust change Use Markup to Use HTMLDoes that help? MarcO
and while we're investigating these features, what is the "spoiler" option? (last box, bottom right corner)

bradm
When it comes to the YouTube forum, the big thing I want is an "Add Topic" button (a different/special one, maybe) that starts a new topic with the template already there, and with the "Use HTML" option selected.Aloha,Brad

bradm
thanks, those were the instructions i got before from bradm. but if you are in a private topic you don't have "options" right? i was trying to put one in a private topic.I would have thought "Use HTML" was available for posts in private topics, but I just checked, and it isn't.plus, that embed code in the template is pretty ridiculously long. there must be an easier way for us.?All you really need is the "embed" code from the video's YouTube page; paste it in, set the post to "Use HTML" and you're ready to go. The other stuff in the template just makes putting titles (etc.) into the post a bit easier.Aloha,Brad
bouche
Yeah, templates would be nice. I wish I had time to hack them in. The best I can do is suggest it to the developers, which I have done in the past.
phorbesie
ok cool.i always thought that you were in charge of the site, not some other people.
bouche
i do run the site but other people created software for the forums that I pay a license fee for. btw, there is an update that I have to apply soon.i can poke around and add some modifications which as I said, I have no time for, but when an update comes in, I have to reapply the modification. If the modification is fairly involved, that could become a major pain.Although, I don't think adding a YouTube template would be all that difficult to apply.
