Shovelfest 2008

We just finished the first set for a good sweat. Despite the fact that I have a shitty little snowblower, I have to basically push it like a heavy lawnmower through 1/2 foot of snow. It does help getting the snow up on the 7 ft. high snowbanks.

we did ours an hour ago. now im just sitting in the living room looking out at all the neighbours doing theirs (and of course, resting up for rounds 2, 3 and probably 4)

I had a full "Excedrin" moment while shoveling this morning... Just finished shoveling, including all the plow snow, and was walking back up the driveway, only to have the plow come back by and drop another load....

meh... If we get the freezing rain we are suppose to get, followed by another 20cm of snow... should make for a fun day and night!

for once, I'm happy there has been no plowing in our neighbourhood. that is the worst feeling when the plow times itself to load up your driveway right after you've finished and have that feeling of accomplishment. It's like someone knocking down your house of cards right after dropping the last one on top.

It was great here.

I looked out and my next door neighbor was doing my driveway with his snowblower.

Five minutes later my other neighbor was over with his snowblower helping him.

Thank God for good neighbors.

WOW! It's just nasty out there now. I haven't seen a snowstorm like this in ages. I hope no one is driving. 401 must be hell if it's like that everywhere.

I like shoveling. It's great exercise. I have a long drive way, took me 1.5 hours to clear it. Worked up a good sweat and was drinking my morning coffee by the time the neighbour's snow blower started.

This is the kind of snow where I feel defeated. I don't even know where to begin or where to put it all.

i'm lazy so i park my car right at the end of my long driveway so i don't have to shovel the whole thing, and the snow plow piled the snow higher than the trunk of my car....right over the top of it! i am SO done with snow.
