bouche
Cuba is lifting bans on Computers and DVD players and soon air conditioners and even TOASTERS!I do wonder what it will be like to jump into computers 30 years after the personal computer was first introduced. I'm assuming they'll start with the Apple II, the progress to either a macintosh or Commodore 64 while eventually the population of cuban nerds will be debating PCs over Macs and Linux over Windows. Velvet
I hope they maintain the restrictions on cell phones and advertising.

Velvet
Yeah, I was on the internet down there too, but always at a business. I never saw a computer in anyone's house.
badams
From the above article..."Only foreigners and companies can buy computers in Cuba at present, while DVD players were seized at the airport until last year, when customs rules were eased"

Jaimoe
Raul is considered more moderate than Fidel, so expect more subtle changes in the future.
bouche
I hope the drinking laws don't change. I never experienced such liberal drinking laws in my life. Walking around the streets openly drinking whatever you desire. mmmmm....boozy street walking.
