This night will celebrate this classic Roots Rock Reggae Trio! The band defined reggae music as a genre and their music is still influencing people all over the world. Such tracks as "Soul Rebel", "Duppy Conqueror", "400 Years" and "Small Axe" were not only classics, but they defined the future direction of reggae. The 3 Original Wailers met in Trenchtown, Jamaica, and that is where the foundation of Reggae and Ska music was built. HOUSE OF DAVID GANG www.myspace.com/houseofdavidgang THE HOUSE OF DAVID GANG is a Toronto-based reggae collective that delivers late 70s and early 80s style Jamaican reggae classics. Formed in Toronto over 15 years ago, the band is fronted by seasoned reggae veteran King Selah. House of David Gang have included members of Resinators, Irie Band, Explorer Band, Revelation, Sellasie I Power and many others. The House of David Gang got it's name from a House that a group of like minded Toronto Reggae Musicians lived in and who held after-hour reggae parties for several years which developed the musicians into some of Toronto's Top session players. For the past 15 years, King Selah and the House of David Gang have hosted the Toronto Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer Tributes, which have helped bring light to Toronto's roots, rock reggae scene. She also hosts Toronto's beloved Rebel Music CKLN88.1FM from 2:30-5PM each Monday. Patrick Roots has been selecting music for twenty years, and he has been involved in community radio for more than sixteen of them. He attended the Universal School Of Broadcasting, before getting his start hosting on Blackline Wednesdays and selecting music on Thursday Mornings with Ras Ricoh at CIUT89.5FM. He was given his own show in 1989, which was the much-loved Reggae Riddims that can now be heard on Wednesdays from 8-10PM on CIUT.
