The Hip are to the Manor what the Beatles are to the Cavern. It was a goddamn ugly building so the area is well-improved without it, but it was an essential music venue for many years in Kingston.

haha, I remember we were at the Ports one night in and around the time they were tearing the Manor down and our friend Bubba came strolling in

"Bubbaaaaa! What are you doing here?"

"Oh I was just picking up a piece of brick from the rubble at the Manor for old times sake"

Bubba used to go to Queens when the Psychology Dept. would do testing. There was some nominal fee they would give the test subjects.

So one time Bubba went in, and as they were attaching the electrodes (or whatever those things are called) to his head got chatting to the technician, asked him "Hey do you ever wish that you could test someone that was stoned?"

Technician: "YES!"

Bubba: "Well you are right now"

I would pay a shitload of cash to get drunk with Bubba one more time. That boy knew how to live.

Remember when we got back from the Dead in 1990 on that bus trip from Buffalo. We were pulling into Kingston around 7am and there might have been 50 or 60 people travelling.

Bubba yells out:

"Everyone to my place for steak and Jack Daniels!"

Unfortuanately we were still way to blazed to even consider it. That was probably a bad mistake. Or a a good one.
