anyone catch a show of this husband/wife duo before?

The duo of Handsome Furs began as an idea in the winter of 2006, comprised of Montreal residents Dan Boeckner (Wolf Parade) and Alexei Perry. Dark and minimal while noisy and earnest, the point was to be as sparse and repetitive as possible with the help of little more than vocals, guitars, and a new drum machine.

they are playing a show in Kingston while I am there, and by Friday night I should be ready to drink a beer and hear some live music!

I'd say catch them. Saw Boeckner play last night with Wolf Parade and the guy puts a ton of energy into his shows. He was completely covered in sweat by the end of the night.

yeah good show - I'm pretty sure they are husband/wife... Guigsy and I caught them in Guelph last year...it's cool stuff.

i've seen them 5 or 6 times and it's always good. i'm seeing them friday on wolfe island, is that the show you're talking about starhead?

Wolf Parade play a solid set at the Capital tonight..... On time, no technical difficulties and the sound was actually quite superb for that room. Too bad about the goddamned heat in that place. $5.75 for a beer, you figure they could afford a/c.

I am in Kingston now on my pre-deployment training before being shipped over to Kandahar and I learned today that Friday night is our recreation night (we are going out as a group to the Iron Duke or som'n for beers and food)

ah, too bad. The General Wolfe Hotel is on Wolfe Island. The opener for that show goes on at 10:30, and the last ferry back to Kingston is at 1:20 AM.

i'd go see them, starhead. they opened for arcade fire at the massey hall shows last year. really enjoyed them.
