yup.

Warming up the commercial pack of hard taco shells.

Ground beef for me, TVP for Laurie.

Some cumin + chili powder + cayenne + salt = seasonings.

Some grated value brand marble cheese.

Herdez medium salsa.

No-name sour cream.

Some finely chopped red onion + chopped pickled jalapenos.

yeah I could get all FANCY but fuck it. Some nights you just gotta go downtown.

(Leftovers = taco salad tomorrow.)

glad you mix your own spices. the day I figured out was the day I felt free of Old El Paso.

We've made our own shells, but for what it's worth, el paso shells are great.

my favourite sour cream is a thick kind that we can get around here in quebec, but I forget the name. There's quite a fantastic cream that is authentic to mexican food at the latin grocery on somerset in ottawa. It's not sour, it's 'fresh' but nice and thick. It is actually quite good. They also have that mexican cheese which looks and feels like feta, but it's not as sharp.

I'm having taco night tonight too. we made taco spiced ground pork (minced onion, garlic, jalepeno, red pepper, cumin, chili powder, salt, pepper) last night to lay out on some tostadas so tonight, to mix it up, the leftover meat is going on taco shells that are sitting in a ziplock.

I'm more of a fan of either ground pork or turkey. I think pork is number 1. Grilled pineapple makes a great topping.

what's phorbes doing in the taco thread?

i dunno MarcO, there's a serious lack of ketchup in the mix so i dunno if that qualifies as a white man's taco

we've got loads of ripe tomatoes from the jardin these days, we're having so much salsa lately that my bellend is turning red. at least that's what i hope is causing it.

anyway homemade salsa + hoemgrown jalapenos & cayenne peppers in tacos? deelish

great JOB marco! That really does look good.

Why don't we designate a taco night next thursday?

1. everyone design their tacos

2. everyone get out their cameras and take a photo

3. everyone posts their photo and their recipes.

I'll add the best of the best to foodeeze.com and the winner gets to eat marco's taco.
