zero
I know Gener's an admitted Prince and Minnesota devotee. That influence is really strong in their music. Even Poopship Destroyer I think has a chunk of Alphabet City in it. I've read way too much about this band. Gener also completely unironically admits a strong Hall and Oates respect especially for the ridiculous amount of soul in their material.I think with Prince it's partly the balladry, musical virtuosity and immense catalogue that comes across in their music. I was just listening to Prince's Jack U Off and laughed out loud because it could so be a Ween tune.
bouche
I don't understand why more bands miss out on the inspiration that can be acquired from lovin' da Prince. I will have to investigate this further. I was very impressed to hear the Prince love in My Morning Jacket. I heard some more influence recently in TV On The Radio - Golden Age recently.damn, I love Blip.tv
