Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest Preliminary Line-up Announcement

Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest organizers today announced that the festival will begin on Wednesday, July 8, with gates opening at 5 p.m., music starting at 6 p.m., and Jeff Beck taking to the Bank of America Stage at 9:30 p.m. Also included on opening night are: Amos the Transparent, Amanda Rheaume, Sergent Garcia, Tympanic, Blue King Brown, Van der Graff Generator, Jon Creeden, and Monkey Junk, with additional acts pending.

I'm out of town july 10-17 so will miss most of it. defintely a good undercard, but nothing i'm too upset about having to miss.

who the hell is in the yardbirds these days?

Mishka is pretty cool - just discovered him on emusic. him and Dave Alvin are the two acts I want to see the most, and ornette coleman (I've prolly missed somebody). all the other bands that i'd like to check out I've already seen enough times

go see dave alvin. you wont be dissapointed. big fan since seeing him at bluesfest a few years ago.

Last time I saw them was at Molson Park in Barrie on a Canada day (2002 edgefest) and they opened up by insulting us and saying Canada sucks. They got pelted by bottles until they left the stage.
