bradm Posted August 11, 2009 Report Share Posted August 11, 2009 I saw Vandermark 5 in Montreal last night, and it was jaw-droppingly good. I guess it's jazz (veering out into avant-garde and even noise territory), but it's not free jazz, as it has some seriously complicated composed parts to it. If you like that kind of thing, and can make it to Supermarket tonight (I think doors are at 8pm or 9pm), and can handle the $20 cover (for two sets), this band is well worth it.
