SolarGarlic
quote:Originally posted by phish stick: i aslo got: john medeski and david fuizinski - lunar crush. some realy wierd stuff on this one, fuizinski reminds me alot of medeski if he played the guitar, so it makes a nice pairing. theres a few songs that realy stand out, especialy 'pineapple'. check it out if you like fast, agressive guitar-driven jazz/funk fusion with crazy ass world vocals, and of course great playing by medeski. AGREED!! My roomie owns this one and its pretty wicked... Im a fan of the Pork Tornado disc. I always forget about it but totally enjoy whenever I break it out. SaggyBalls
oh yeah...the ambum that's captured my heart forever... Charlie Haden/Egberto Gismonti: in montreal live from the jazz fest in '89 bass and piano/10 string classical guitar Likely the most genuinely emoted music I've heard from piano/bass duos. Another gem is an ambum called mars is eden by tom spacey and lost souls by the doves...lots of you likely have that. cheers

c-towns
Any "Deep Banana Black Out". Moses Mayes (out of Winnipeg) The other "Gomez" albums, "bring it on" and the newest one "Churchills" from the 60's, on vinyl, crazy psychedelic from the middle east/ If you can find this, you'll thank me. Churchills/Jericho Jones - Churchills 1968-1969/Jericho Jones 1970-1971. Dble CD, £16.00 (Hed Arzi - BAN-15591) One of the top 10 psych albums of all time (fact). Only released in Israel in 1969, this is an incredible psych fest with superb tripped out songs in English, amazing multi-layered, phased freaked out acid guitar solos, weird effects and exotic arabian instruments. Genuine Middle Eastern psych. The band only made one album, but what an album and not only that this version has 6 bonus tracks! They then evolved into Jericho who feature on disc 2 of this magnificent set when their music showed a greater maturity in both songwriting and playing, featuring some excellent heavy bluesy/acid music. Contains 7 bonus tracks. Beautiful slipcase artwork and extensive booklet showing 7" sleeves and press shot. Just found a great site cool shit Thats all for now, again, great thread. peace.jamesd.
