Up On Cripple Creek - The Band

Now, there's a flood out in California

And up north it's freezing cold

And this living off the road

Is getting pretty old

So I guess I'll call up my big mama

Tell her I'll be rolling in

But you know, deep down, I'm kinda tempted

To go and see my Bessie again

Also:

Convoy - Paul Brandt

Truckin' - Dead

I've Been Everywhere - Johnny Cash

Runnin' Down a Dream - Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers

Bring It On Home - Zeppelin

+1 on the Jackson Browne. The track "The Road" is a pretty clear version of what it is like, at least from my perspective.

and Velvet... come on. Opening an album with random crowd chatter and people yelling out song names.. awesome.
