gentlemonkey 17 Report post Posted August 26, 2010 Ottawa's local (ish) brewery- Beau's cleaned up at the Golden Tap awards... Best Microbrewery and best year-round beer! I agree 100% SO effing tasty. I'm pretty sure its available at LCBOs all over Southern Ontario now. Nothing like picking up a 4 pack at the LCBO and seeing it was bottled 2 days prior.. YUM. Thorgnor 2 Report post Posted April 3, 2011 If Tonin likes it I gotta try it. That guy is crazy disagreeable.
Jaimoe 49 Report post Posted April 3, 2011 For craft beer, getting a 4-pack of bigasss Beau bottles for $16ish is a good deal. I wish the bottles were reusable though. Blame the Beer Store for setting their standard for reusable bottles.
ersh 6 Report post Posted April 3, 2011 They had this on tap at Ebar in Guelph, where I drank it every Thursday and loved it for the last month. Loved it!
Jaimoe 49 Report post Posted April 3, 2011 The quality I like about Beau's is that it is a hearty, full-bodied ale. There's nothing remotely panzy domestic about Breau's taste.
kookycanooky 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2011 I'll be the first naysayer...It's a great original beer idea but Lug Tread has an odd sweet finish that I don't prefer. That said, I loved it the first time I had it, had about 4 in a row and it kept me looking out for it at the LC for a few months until their s.o. distribution was sorted out (now it's also at the Brain and the Ship in Hamilton). It's a very different kind of beer, that's for sure.
ollie 13 Report post Posted April 4, 2011 The limited run of Beaver River IPA they had out recently is even better. Fingers crossed that they work it into regular rotation.
jaybone 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2011 I liked the IPEh. It's tough to find around here.I'm super happy to see a few Canadian Craft Brewers putting out IPA's lately.

It's tough to find around here.I'm super happy to see a few Canadian Craft Brewers putting out IPA's lately.Ontario seems to be slow on the IPA trend, but things are certainly improving. When I was in BC last winter, IPAs were plentiful made by several local craft breweries. I wish the Kingston Brew Pub would export some of their beers other than Dragon's Breath. larry_llama 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2011 It is a good beer but more importantly an even better company. Problem is, I needz my hops and this just doesn't quite deliver. I also hope they start down the distribution road with a solid ipa
jaybone 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2011 (edited) I've seen the IPEh at a few stores in the GTA.I hope they make it a regular feature though.I love my hops as well! For those that don't check the food forum, where beer is discussed regularly, Southern Tier's Gemini is a great brew. Be warned, it is 9.1% and two big boys will get you good and buzzed.Get'em while you can. Edited April 8, 2011 by Guest
